What has made the notion of the portrait attractive is precisely the concept of interface which suggestively plays with the word face, and means simultaneously »something that is between faces« and »something that acts as a point of exchange between different systems«.

Fotografski opus goriškega ustvarjalca Roberta Kusterleta je slovenska likovna publika dodobra spoznala v zadnjih treh letih , letos pa se je s svojim najnovejšim fotografskim ciklom z naslovom Mutabiles Nymphae predstavil tudi »domačemu«, novogoriškemu občinstvu. Razstava je bila v Mestni galeriji Nova Gorica na ogled od 4. do 24. junija.

Fokus sejma Paris Photo 2009 je predstavljala arabska in iranska fotografija, in sicer je bilo v centralnem razstavnem prostoru videti izbrane predvsem starejše fotografije iz zbirke Arab Image Fundation, v sekciji Statement pa dela mlajših avtorjev arabskega in iranskega sveta.

Svoje stvari dajemo na internet zato, da bi bili vidni. Ne le iz narcisizma, temveč iz čiste eksistencialne nuje (če ni prvi že vključen v zadnjo). A streznjenja ne bo, dokler nam kak tabloid ne sname fotke z internetne strani, ji odreže vodni žig in fotko objavi s podpisom v slogu Arhiv tabloida[1]

Zanimiv je podatek, da se je iz Maksimiljana ali Maksa zaradi številnih nemškutarjev v Sevnici preimenoval v Foto: MILIJAN (imel je tudi pečat s tem imenom) in tako izpričal svojo narodnost. Z ženo, ki se je tudi ukvarjala s fotografijo (v glavnem je delala v temnici ali pa, če Maksimiljana ni bilo, fotografirala v ateljeju), sta že pred vojno kupila maloformatno kamero leica.

V fotografski literaturi je oglaševalska fotografija kot zvrst spregledano ali v najboljšem primeru marginalno, neprestižno področje delovanja, četudi sta fotografija in množična blagovna produkcija tesno prepleteni že od začetka medija, in čeprav je bilo prav veliko povpraševanje po fotografijah za namene trženja ena gonilnih sil tehnoloških izboljšav za produkcijo in reprodukcijo fotografij.

A few years ago, new web sites that let you publish print-on-demand books have emerged on the publishing market. As a mean of democratization and alternative to bigger publishers they offer amateur and professional photographers an easier and more accessible way of publishing photo books. There is a variety of print on demand self- publishing sites, which differ from each other in various ways. Their suitability depends on the experience, wishes and needs of the author. The article describes the basics and emphasizes some main characteristics of online publishing.
