Dumitriu, Simona

Simona Dumitriu (1978–) lives and works in Bucharest; she is an art theorist and artist. She teaches photography in the context of contemporary art at the National University of the Arts in Bucharest. She writes for the Romanian art magazine Arta and, together with a group of collaborators, has recently opened Platforma, an artist-run gallery space in Bucharest. Her interests range from mixing and intersecting theory and practice, internet and physical databases, archival science applied to visual arts, memory loss and the history of contemporary Romanian art, discourse analysis, social and human rights activism.
